Umberto F. Catignani

  Umberto F. Catignani is President of Orbital Plastics Consulting, Inc. a   Georgia based company that focuses on Injection Molding Processing,   Training, Productivity Enhancement, Quick Mold Change and Tooling   as well as Robotics, Automation and Turn Key Systems Integration.

  Mr. Catignani received a Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering   from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Science in Polymer   Engineering from The University of Akron. He has distinguished himself   by graduating with top honors from both programs and received the   Dow Chemical Graduate Student Fellowship.

Mr. Catignani has jointly published papers dealing with Crystallization, Microstructure, and Kinetics of Polymers in SPE Technical Papers, The Journal of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering & Science. Most recently he published an article in Plastics Machinery & Auxiliaries on streamlining the PPAP process entitled "Qualifying Tools for Automotive Molding."

Mr. Catignani is Secretary and a Silver Grade Member of the Southern Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers.

Umberto has co-authored Paulson Training Programs, Inc. interactive training course entitled "Injection Molding Machine Maintenance" and is aiding in developing a course focusing on Electric Injection Molding Machines.

Umberto is an instructor for numerous seminars including:

   °Advanced Injection Molding Troubleshooting and Simulation     sponsored by Paulson and SPI - Plastics Learning Network.
      °Design of Experiments for Injection Molding using SimTech by Paulson.

Umberto has work experience in various industries. He has been a Lead Senior Injection Molding Process Engineer for General Motors and Delphi Packard Electric Systems in Ohio. He was a Project Manager with Husky Injection Molding Systems service and sales organization in Georgia and a contract engineer to Steel Profitability Consulting in Indiana.
